Week Nine  Installing the Fan belts & Wire Harness

Had a problem with the new intake manifold and Carburetor. It was 2 inches to high,  Had to replace them with stock GM Parts.

Pulled the intake Manifold off and installed the GM stock one.

Installed the Transmission Mounts and installed the New Drive Shaft

Install the Fan Shroud and radiator, Installed the Carburetor and Smog Equipment.  I installed the Smog system for the year of the Jaguar, this includes the Air pump and air injection tubes in the exhaust manifolds, also hooked up the charcoal canister.  By installing the smog equipment it did not take to much time and there is plenty of space left in the engine bay

Also this week we got the seats back from Louis in Houston, Texas. And Special thanks to Dean Rietz for the transportation of the Seats from Houston.

Next week we have to change out the Gear shift cable as this one broke on the installation of the 700R Transmission.  Photos will be coming.  Also we will finish the engine compartment.

Week Ten:

Installed the new shift cable though the tunnel, Then on to the 700R

Installed the Radiator Filler cap with the over flow line.  Then connected the heater hoses

Installed the Front Cross Braces and the AC Filter/Dryer

Engine Almost done, Next install the Spark plug wires, AC Lines, Throttle Control Cable and the Cruse Control.

Hooked up the Charcoal Canister with vacuum lines and Hooked up the Fuel pump with return line back to the fuel tank.

Underneath the Car is now completed (except for the Exhaust System) also Extra Jaguar wires not used any longer.

Installed the Spark plug wires, Air injection system, A/C High & Low side lines. Engine is almost ready for start up, just a few more items to finish up. Will Start the engine this Saturday June 9, 2001.

This Week I will finish up the inside of the car Install the carpet, Seats, Gauges and center console.

Installed the Front/Rear Seats and installed the Carpet.

Installed new 125Watt 6" Speakers in the front doors (note shown plastic covers for the speakers in the door

Installing the front Bumper, Head lights, Turn signals and Hood

The Engine is now completed and ready to Start.  If you may have notice I have changed the stock Air Cleaner to the small chromed air cleaner due to hood clearance.

Kitty's Parents

I'm Happy to say that Kitty started right up, even though she's not timed or the Carburetor fine tuned.  Drove it up and down on the drive way without any problems. Will finish up some small details this week and then the Jag will get towed to the muffler shop, to hook up the Exhaust system.

Will post more photos of the odds and ends and the completed photos inside and out when she comes back from the muffler shop.
